We haven’t heard a radio friendly, indie-rock track in quite a while so it was with eyebrows raised and a high sigh of relief that we greeted the arrival of this new act on the Hit Sheet turntables. Vocally we are reminded of Snow Patrol with more than a hint of Kings of Leon too thrown in for good measure, which is a definite plus as far as our ears are concerned. Songs with rousing choruses always float our boat and we hope that XFM and 6Music etc producers take note.
Out of Time is the band’s debut single and was written and produced by band members Sam Burkey (Vocals) and Ross O’Reilly (Guitar). Scott de Jongh (Guitar), Martin Griffith (Drums), and Daniel Mount (Bass) make up the rest of the quintet. Grammy award winner Simon Gogerly (U2) mixed the track.
Halfway to New York are being given a helping hand by Live Nation’s new project ‘LIVE CONNECTION’ which handpicks the best new acts in the UK each month to record a session at and O2 Academy venue. By the sounds of it HTNY are going to be playing arenas soon enough.
